Inclusion in the field of new technology has been at the heart of the “Building the Future of Extended Reality Together” event, which concluded the first season of six AWE Nite Florence events.
On this occasion we had three exceptional speakers:
CHRISTOPHER LAFAYETTE, IPPOLITO IMANI CARADONNA, GIOVANNI LANDI.
How important is social inclusion in the field of new technologies?
We have been forced by the Covid pandemic to become more virtual in a very short time. How have our virtual lives evolved? Where do emergent technologies stand in the current COVID-19 world?
With all of the accelerated technology advancement over the past 18 months, one area that you may not be familiar with that is being positively impacted by XR innovation is microbiology!
Microbiology of genome manipulation, robotics, automation, holopractic… How can the innovations of XR be used in a laboratory? What contribution can they make to the scientific sector?
How critical is transparency in the field of immersive technologies?
It has been a meeting full of ideas concluding with a debate on “The Worldwide XR Ecosystem” lead by AWE Nite Florence co-organizer, ANTONY VITILLO.

The Flyer
On 24 June, the day on which the event was held, in the cities of Florence and Turin, the feast of the Patrono di San Giovanni was celebrated which, like every year, has marked the beginning of summer.
In Florence the final match of the “Calcio storico fiorentino” usually takes place, which sees the districts of the city compete against each other to elect the winner. And the evening ends with the fireworks that bring the whole city “Together”.
But Covid, this year did not allow to meet and everything was postponed to next autumn.
As well as the great AWE 2021 exhibition, which will take place on November 9-10-11 in California.
We therefore wanted to create meaningful images for this event, through the flyer that has been used for the promotion. See the explanation at minute 0:00:06 of the video.
PONTE SANTA TRINITA, is located in Florence and represents the union between different cultures and ideas.
The sculpture by AMERIGO VESPUCCI, located in the courtyard of the Uffizi Museum, represents the link between Italy and America. Amerigo Vespucci was born in Florence and was a pioneer of discovery and navigation, just like AWE Nite Florence‘s speakers are.
But Amerigo Vespucci did not discover America alone; he has brought together a large group of experienced sailors, who together have built the future of our world.
Finally, the man walking on the sundial in front of the Galileo Galilei Museum, indicates the date, the hours, the seasons and… marks the time that passes, in the construction of a Future XR, TOGETHER.
See you in September
AWE Nite Florence stops for the months of July and August. It will resume in September, to accompany us to the most awaited event of the whole year AWE USA, which will be held in presence on November 9-10-11 in California.
